April 2010 President's Report
Greetings Windsor Ski and Snowboard Club members!
Our season is winding down now. I'm typing this letter while waiting for my
ski partners to pack their bags so that we can head to the airport and return
from Utah. Another fabulous ski week along with our club week in Jackson,
Wyoming made for a great ski season for me. It never seems like enough though.
Next year, the club has already started to plan for more great trips. We have
a few destinations in mind that we are going to be getting pricing for as it
becomes available. Bring your ideas and destination preferences to our next
meeting on Thursday, April 8th. It is our last meeting of the season and also
the Annual General Meeting will take place, with our elections taking place
and your chance to express your thoughts and wishes regarding the club going
forward. Please try to make it out to this meeting. I believe that the club
has improved over the last few years because of the changes that have been made
from suggestions of the members. We will continue to work towards improving the
benefits of belonging to our club through the ideas of the Executive and the
General Membership. We welcome the new members of this past year into our group
and encourage everyone to continue to promote their club when they are talking
to others. There are savings in larger numbers and more activities we can
organize when we have more people participating.
The Membership fee of $25 remains the same for next year and can be paid at
any time with the completion of Membership application form and waiver.
This summer we will be having several activities for members. There will be
a wineries tour, a golf tournament, a sailing outing, and other events are being
discussed. If you would like to plan an event, by all means, do so. Ron Ashworth,
our Webmaster, has been working on our website, www.windsorskiclub.ca ,
and has added a bulletin board where members can post their own messages and
send out invites to other members. We will be telling you how to use it at
Aprils meeting. There are also other changes in the works to improve our webpage.
Throughout the summer, the Executive still meets up to plan for next years
trips, the 2nd Thursday of each month at Lilly Kazzilly's. Members are welcome
to come join us at the usual time, around 8PM, after our Executive meeting and
share some social time with us out on the patio. We will meet June, July, and
August, and then resume regular meetings in September. Be sure to make it out
again to the first meeting in September when we announce our trips, since they
have sold out very quickly the last few years.
I would like to close out my message by thanking all of the volunteers on
the Executive Board who have worked with me and others to promote and provide
a fun environment for all the members who enjoy the benefits of our club.
Don't forget to come to our End of Year Banquet on Saturday, May 8th and on
Thursday, April 8th Annual General meeting, both at Lilly Kazzilly's.
